How to create an ad campaign?

Create a campaign to run ads across social media to grow your audience and attract visitors to your profile page.

EngineEars has partnered with marketing technology platform Symphony to provide tools that simplify ad campaign management and allow you to reach audiences across Instagram and Facebook with minimal effort. Symphony optimizes campaign targeting and delivery, saving you time so you can focus on making music.

1. Click 'Create Campaign' from your Dashboard

Sign in to your EngineEars account. If you don't have an EngineEars account, you can sign up for one.

Once logged in, go to your Dashboard and locate the Campaigns section. Then click the "Create campaign" button.

2. Specify the Details for your Ad Campaign

In the panel, you can now edit the details for your ad campaign.

  • Give your campaign a unique name by entering a Campaign Title
  • Click the Choose Ad Template button. In the modal, choose a design from the asset template library you want to use for the ads in your campaign.
    • Engineers: if you want to use your engineer promo assets, make sure you are logged in to your Engineer account in the upper-right profile dropdown menu.
    • Studios: if you want to use your studio promo assets, make sure you are logged in to your Studio account in the upper-right profile dropdown menu.

Once a template is selected, an ad will be automatically generated, customized to your profile, services, or discounts. You can then see a preview of your generated ad.
  • Write a Caption for your ad campaign, it will be displayed along with your ad
  • Specify how much Budget in total you want to spend for your ad campaign (Note: it must be $15 or more).

TIP: When running a campaign, Symphony recommends a minimum of $10 per day for a period of 10-15 days, totaling $100 - $150 budget for your campaign.

    • [Optional] Specify any Targeted Markets you want to additionally target on your campaign.
      • This allows you to target your ads to reach audiences across Facebook and Instagram who are located in a certain geographic location. For instance, you can choose to target the country you are based in (e.g. United States). If you want to hone in your ads to reach a smaller area, you can target by state/region (e.g. California or Texas), or even cities you are based in or frequently visit (e.g. Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas etc.)
    • [Optional] Specify any Audience Interests you want to additionally target on your campaign.
      • This allows you to target your ads to reach audiences across Facebook and Instagram who have shown interest in a particular content/post topic. For instance, you can choose to target certain music genres (e.g. jazz, rock, k-pop, gospel etc), and/or certain artists your music sounds similar to (e.g. kendrick lamar, taylor swift, sabrina carpenter, bruno mars, lady gaga etc)
  • Enter a Start Date. This is the date when your campaign will start to run once it is approved.
  • [Optional] Enter an End Date. This is the date when your campaign will finish running. If you don't enter an end date, the campaign will run until the entire campaign budget is exhausted.

TIP: By providing an End Date, Meta will split your total campaign budget evenly across the number of days in your campaign period so that your ads will run every day between the start until the end date (e.g. if you have a budget of $100 and the duration between the start/end date is 5 days, your campaign will spend approximately $20 per day and run for 5 days). Without an end date, your campaign may run the risk of exhausting all of its campaign budget on the start date.

Double-check all campaign details for accuracy before proceeding to payment. When you're ready, click the "Review and checkout" button to proceed.

    3. Enter Payment Details

Complete the payment process to finish submitting your ad campaign. The order total represents the amount you are purchasing to be spent as your ad budget during your campaign duration along with applicable service fees.

Choose a payment option, then fill in the necessary details to process the payment for your campaign. Click the "purchase" button to finish checkout.

    • Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
    • Debit Card
    • Klarna (for installment payments)
    • Affirm (for installment payments)
    • Cash App

    4. Campaign Review and Activation

After payment has been processed successfully, the campaign will be submitted to Meta for review against Meta's ad policies and guidelines. Your campaign must undergo a review process before it is activated and enabled to run across Facebook and Instagram.

When your campaign is approved, it will go live and start to run. After it has started running, you can review your campaign performance data.

    • If your ads are "Approved", it means they have successfully passed the review process. Your campaign will go into effect and be scheduled to run on Facebook and Instagram based on the start date specified in your campaign details. Your campaign will be live and run for the duration of the campaign period and/or until the budget is exhausted.

After your campaign goes live, you won't be able to make changes.

    • If your ads are "Pending Review", it means they are still undergoing the review process. Please wait for the results of the review process which usually finishes within 24 hours, though some cases may take longer.
    • If your ads are "Rejected", it means they did not successfully pass the review process. Your campaign cannot run on Facebook and Instagram until the ads are approved and are not found to violate Meta's ad policies and guidelines. Even after ads have been initially approved and gone live, Meta may review ads again to ensure enforcement of its ad policies and guidelines. If your campaign happens to get rejected, contact Support and we can assist you in making adjustments and resubmitting for review again.

Per our Terms of Service, campaign refunds are not allowed.
