🧾 How to Receive Your 1099 Tax Form as a Member of the EngineEars Platform

If you've earned over $600 in a calendar year as a service provider on the EngineEars platform, you may be eligible to receive a 1099-NEC tax form for U.S. tax reporting purposes.

📌 Who Receives a 1099-NEC from EngineEars?

EngineEars issues a 1099-NEC form to U.S.-based service providers who:

  • Are not classified as employees (i.e., freelancers or independent contractors)

  • Have earned $600 or more in total gross payouts on the platform in the previous tax year

  • Have submitted all correct information requested by Stripe to file

If you are not a U.S. citizen or resident, or have not met the minimum income threshold, you will not receive a 1099 from EngineEars.


📅 When Are 1099s Sent?

EngineEars sends 1099-NEC forms by January 31st of the following year, in compliance with IRS regulations.

For example:
If you earned $600+ in 2024, your 1099 form will be sent by January 31, 2025.


📤 How Will I Receive My 1099?

1099 forms are delivered electronically via Stripe.

Electronic Delivery:

  • You’ll receive an email from our payment provider Stripe with a secure link to download your form

  • Make sure to check your inbox, spam, or promotions folder for any emails related to “1099 Tax Form” 


📝 How to Ensure You Receive Your 1099

To avoid delays or issues, make sure the following are up to date:

  • ✅ Your Stripe account details are filled out in full and current

  • ✅ Your email address and mailing address are current

  • ✅ You’ve crossed the $600 earnings threshold for the tax year

You can verify or update your tax information directly in your Stripe account. Also, make sure this information matches in your EngineEars profile.


❗ Didn’t Receive Your 1099?

If it’s after January 31st and you still haven’t received your 1099 form:

  1. Check your email (including spam/junk folders)

  2. Log in to your Stripe account to confirm your tax info is correct

  3. Contact our support team or Stripe's support team for assistance
