How do I setup a Session Time Recording Service

Add a Recording "Session Time" Service package to allow clients to book you for recording/tracking services.

How to Set Up a Session Time Recording Service

"Session Time" refers to adding a recording or tracking service to your studio profile which allows clients to book your time and expertise seamlessly.

There are 3 tabs to customize when setting up your recording service:

• Service Details
• Scheduling Preferences
• Service Description

In each tab, there are Advanced Settings available to give you greater flexibility and control in how you customize your recording service package for clients.

You can click to expand/collapse the Advanced Settings within each tab to see/edit these additional options. If you're unsure, you can proceed with the defaults and come back at a later time to adjust or utilize Advanced Settings.

1. Access Your Profile

   

   
   Navigate to your profile and click Add Service. Make sure Recording is selected in the dropdown menu. Then click the Link Google Calendar button. 

   
   You will be asked to connect your Google account and grant permissions to EngineEars. Click the Continue button. After your google calendar has been successfully linked, you will be able to set up Service Details.
   

2. Enter Your Location

   You will need to enter your exact address in the My Location field to be searchable to clients. Enter your address in the field, and locate the corresponding address from the google results dropdown, select the matching address.

   After clicking the "save" button on your recording service, if the address you entered is valid, you will see a confirmation message "The service has been successfully updated". If the address is not valid, you will get an error message "Invalid address. Please provide a valid address to proceed".

   After saving a valid address, only the city, region (state/province if applicable), and/or zip/postal code (if applicable) will be displayed and searchable for clients when booking your recording services.

   TIP: Enter your exact address into Google maps and the valid address in google is what you can enter in the My Location field to ensure it's the correct one. Use this for US addresses and/or non-US addresses.

3. Set Your Hourly Rate

   In the Service Details tab, customize your rates and details for your recording service.  

    

   

   
   Enter your personal hourly rate for tracking or recording sessions. Keep in mind, this rate only covers your time as the recording engineer and does not include the rate for booking the studio.

   Toggle I am willing to travel to the artist for sessions to ON if you want to set personal hourly travel service rates. In the calculated total, you can see your hourly recording service rate when traveling to the artist (hourly rate + travel rate).

4. Configure Your Booking Preferences
   Set your preferences for:

   • Lead time: How much advance notice you need before a session.
   • Buffer time: The time required between bookings to prepare.
   • Session duration: Specify the minimum and maximum lengths for each session.
   

5. Advanced Settings
   Click on Advanced Settings to expand and customize additional options.

   Toggle Offer block discounts to ON if you want to enable bulk discounts. If you provide discounts for longer blocks of time, you can create special pricing for sessions that last 4, 6, 8, 12, or even 24 hours. This helps attract clients booking longer projects.

   Toggle Allow partial payments to ON if you want to let clients put down a minimum initial deposit when booking, and pay the remainder after the end of the booked session.

    

   

6. Availability

   In the Scheduling Preferences tab, specify your availability for your recording service for each day of the week. 
   

   
   Choose your days of operation for recording and specify the hours you are generally available for bookings. This ensures that clients can only book during your available times. 

   Although your availability is set, you still have the option to reject or reschedule any sessions as needed, offering flexibility in managing your schedule.

7. Describe your service

   In the Service Description tab, explain in detail what makes your recording service unique to your clients. 
   

8. Save Changes

   After you have customized/confirmed the details in all the tabs, you can click the 'Save' button. 

   

    

   TIP: You can always return to your Profile's Edit Mode to make modifications to this service or customize the details further.
