EngineEars Dolby Atmos Certification Course
EngineEars and Dolby Labs have teamed up to offer an official Dolby Atmos Certification course. This includes 50 hours of self-training through the EngineEars School of Music, followed by one full day of in-person training at a premier Dolby Atmos Enabled Studio, where you’ll apply your learnings in real-time with instructors present.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A MacOS system compatible with Pro Tools
- Use the same computer throughout the course for consistency
- Pro Tools versions supporting 128 audio tracks
- Headphones (Apple AirPods Max recommended but not required)
Course Overview:
The curriculum, developed in part with The Dolby Institute, is a 50+ hour course preparing engineers for future sound demands. It includes:
- 38 hours of self-training on Blackboard
- 8 hours of in-person training in a Dolby Atmos Studio, sponsored by EngineEars
- 25 modules across 5 parts
Course Breakdown:
PART 1: Dolby Atmos Renderer (Approx. 16.5 Hours)
PART 2: Pro Tools & Dolby Atmos (Approx. 9 Hours)
PART 3: Deliverables (Approx. 9 Hours)
PART 4: Quality Control (Approx. 1.5 Hours)
PART 5: In Your Dolby Atmos Mix (Approx. 1.5 Hours)
Pre-Requisites:
1. Off the Waitlist and Onboarded:
Ensure your profile is off the waitlist and fully onboarded.
2. Get Verified:
Complete five mixing or mastering projects on the platform. Our team will assess these to verify your profile, ensuring you're ready to mix in Dolby Atmos.
3. Platinum Annual Membership:
This course is provided to Platinum Annual members at no additional cost. Membership must be active and out of the trial period.
4. First Come, First Served:
The first 50 eligible students who complete and submit their registration form after registration opens will secure a spot in the course.
