Steps to resolve issues with your release submission if it is rejected
After your Streaming release has been submitted, it will undergo a content review process to ensure your release meets guidelines/standards/policies by digital streaming platforms and digital stores, before it is sent.
If you have been notified that your Streaming release submission has been "Rejected", it means that there were issues found with the contents of your release during the content review process.
Most often, these issues are flagged during the review process before your release is sent to streaming services and stores. Occasionally, your release might be flagged by specific streaming services and/or stores after your release is sent to them for release distribution (it is possible that your release can be flagged even after it is released live).
There are many various reasons why an entire release, a song within your album release, or specific details / metadata about your release or song could be flagged and rejected.
While not an exhaustive list, some of these reasons include common issues/errors with the:
- Cover Art's quality, accuracy, metadata, image references or copyright that's submitted with your release
- Parental Advisory requirements and inconsistencies on your release or songs
- Original Release Date's accuracy
- Casing of the typed release title or song title text capitalization
- Track Titles and the accuracy of metadata for song versions, artist names, or roles
- Copyright risk of your uploaded song audio
- Specific streaming platform or store that cannot accept your release according to their particular policy, specifications, standards or guidelines
Steps to resolve issues for your rejected release submission
When you receive a rejection notice via email or within the details of your release in the EngineEars platform, it is important that you pay careful attention to the issues flagged for rejection and the reasons for the error/issue.
These details will help you understand what you need to adjust, add, remove, fix, re-upload, or address in order to correct the problem with your release submission before your release can be re-submitted for review again.
1. Review the reasons flagged over email for your release submission rejection

2. Go to the Release Details page for your specific release to see the Rejected status
3. Click on the "View Errors" button to see the reason(s) your release was rejected during the Content Review process.

5. Edit your release and correct each and every error/issue outlined as reasons for the release rejection
6. Once the issues/errors are addressed, re-submit your modified release for Content Review again.
