How come I don't have session bookings after setting up a Studio profile on EngineEars?

Steps to elevate your Studio profile to get booked by clients

You've signed up for a free account on EngineEars.com, and you created a profile as a Studio Manager. How come me and my studio are not getting noticed?

This is a common question we get all the time. Often times, new studio managers have only started the journey, but haven't taken all the steps to reap the full benefits of our platform.

Top 5 Reasons your Studio may not be getting client bookings on EngineEars and what to do.

1. Have you completed all the onboarding steps to activate your Studio profile for bookings?

Your studio facility's profile on EngineEars will not be eligible for session bookings by clients until all onboarding steps have been completed. Follow the appropriate onboarding guide below for your studio and make sure to complete every step.

Tips: Below are the most common steps that new Studio Managers forget to complete.

2. Have you adding a Recording Service as a recording engineer? If you have other recording engineers working out of your studio, have you invited them to your team to set up recording services also?

If your studio requires a recording/tracking engineer to be booked for sessions, you will need to ensure each recording engineer (including yourself personally) is affiliated to your studio's team and has corresponding recording service rates set up. EngineEars allows you to charge rates for a studio room separately from rates for a recording engineer for a booked session, so both rates need to be configured. Follow these steps to finish your recording services setup so your studio can be eligible to get booked for recording sessions.

3. Have you completely filled out your Studio profile to market your studio facility?

You have studio room, rates, and recording services added, but how does your studio profile look? If you were an artist visiting this studio profile, would you want to visit and record your next project at this facility? Put yourself into the shoes of an artist and take a critical eye at looking at your own studio's profile. Here are the basics of polishing up your profile to really market yourself seriously:

  • Does your Studio profile have a descriptive Bio that highlights what makes your studio services special that someone would want to book?
  • Does your Studio profile have arrival information described so new clientele know how to find your facility and what to expect upon arrival?
  • Does your profile have a multiple high quality photos of every room that visually shows the layout, equipment, amenities etc?
  • Does your profile have social media links and other URLs added for artists to learn more about your studio, and what you're all about?
  • Do you have any Amenities selected on your studio profile to highlight what artists/clients can expect to experience?
  • Do you have any Equipment listed on your profile for each room that highlights what artists/clients can use/rent for their sessions?
  • Would you book a new studio if they had 0 Reviews? Most likely not. Build up your reputation (follow the steps below) to complete session bookings on the platform and start collecting client reviews on your studio's profile.

4. Have you gotten your Studio Verified?

Becoming a "Verified Studio" on the EngineEars platform grants your Studio's profile visibility on the public marketplace for ALL artists or labels to find and book you for sessions. Until your studio is verified, your studio's profile cannot be publicly visible yet.

The EngineEars Verified blue badge is a stamp of approval that your studio is professional and can be trusted.

Here's how to get verified so your studio can be publicly seen and booked.

5. Have you made any efforts to promote your studio profile on social media?

Your platform Studio profile is looking stellar and your rooms/services are ready to be booked, have you spread the word to drive visitors and traffic to your profile? No one will know unless you announce that your studio is here and ready for bookings. Here's how:

6. Have you tried tapping into your network of artists/clients to get session bookings?

Getting new business is your ultimate goal, but to get the wheels started, your best source of bookings is going to be your past or existing clientele. Rather than wait, tap into your local network and ask if any previous or current clients have songs to record and collaborate on. If they do, run the session through the EngineEars platform by generating a booking link to invoice the work, and schedule the session. And if you have an unpaid session in the works, send an invoice for the session to bill your client through the platform (e.g. past completed, unbilled sessions). This is the surefire way to fast-track your way towards getting sessions booked and accumulating client reviews.
