Steps to elevate your Engineer profile to get booked by clients
You've signed up for a free account on EngineEars.com, and you created a profile as an Audio Engineer. How come I'm not getting noticed?
This is a common question we get all the time. Often times, new audio engineers have only started the journey, but haven't taken all the steps to reap the full benefits of our platform.
Top 5 Reasons you may not be getting client bookings on EngineEars and what to do.
1. Have you added service packages to your Engineer profile?
Clients cannot book you from your EngineEars profile if you don't have any services listed. Follow these steps to finish your services setup and add the engineering services that you provide so you can be eligible to get booked.

- Tip: make sure to add each service package to your profile one at a time (recording, two-track mixing, full stems mixing, Dolby Atmos mixing, mastering)
2. Have you completely filled out your Engineer profile to market yourself?
You have services added and you have a profile, but how does it look? If you were an artist visiting this profile, would you want to trust your next music project to this audio engineer? Put yourself into the shoes of an artist and take a critical eye at looking at your own profile. Here are the basics of polishing up your profile to really market yourself seriously:
- Does your profile have a descriptive Bio that highlights what makes your services and skills special that someone would want to book?
- Does your profile have a high quality cover photo and profile photo that shows who you are visually?
- Does your profile have a location listed (city, state/region, country) in case artists want to collab in person?
- Does your profile have social media links and other URLs added for artists to see your past work, your personality, and what you're all about?
- Have you specified what Genres of music you specialize in on your profile? Artists often look for engineers within a specific genre.
- Do you have any Equipment listed on your profile that artists and clients can see are a part of your mobile rig, or what you provide?
- Have you been credited for past work or completed projects on the platform? Make sure to add examples to your Portfolio so that artists can see and hear your talents.
- Would you book someone new if they had 0 Reviews? Most likely not. Build up your reputation (follow the steps below) to complete project bookings and start collecting client reviews on your profile.
3. Have you made any efforts to promote your services and profile on social media?
Your platform profile is looking stellar and your services are ready to be booked, have you spread the word to drive visitors and traffic to your profile? No one will know unless you announce that you're here and ready to work. Here's how:
- Create a custom discount for clients to incentive them to book you
- Download your promotional assets to post on social media and spread the word
- Create an ad campaign to target new and existing audiences
4. Have you tried tapping into your network of artists/clients to get bookings?
Getting new business is your ultimate goal, but to get the wheels started, your best source of bookings is going to be your past or existing clientele. Rather than wait, tap into your network and ask if any previous or current clients have projects to collaborate on. If they do, run the project through the EngineEars platform by generating a booking link to invoice the work, streamline the workflow, and start your collaboration. And if you have a project in the works now, run the in-progress project through the platform to invoice the work. This is the surefire way to fast-track your way towards becoming a "Verified Engineer".
