How to Distribute Music Videos to Vevo
EngineEars can facilitate music video delivery to Vevo as part of your distribution request. Vevo is a video network focused on official music content, distributed across YouTube and connected television (CTV) platforms.
Accepted content types
Vevo supports a wider range of video content than most other streaming platforms:
- Official Music Videos
- Lyric Videos
- Live Performances
- Audio Stills
- Visualizers
- Behind-the-Scenes Content
Vevo enforces strict video, audio, copyright, and broadcast-quality standards. Low-resolution or poorly compressed files will be rejected.
Vevo channel setup
If you already have a Vevo channel
Include your existing Vevo channel URL when submitting your intake form. This ensures your video is delivered to the correct artist channel.
If you don't have a Vevo channel yet
EngineEars can request a new Vevo channel as part of your submission. You'll need to provide:
- Requested Vevo Channel Name
- Artist Name
- Country of Origin
- Repertoire Owner / Label
Vevo channel naming requirements:
- Format: ArtistNameVEVO
- 20 characters or fewer — including the VEVO suffix
- No spaces or special characters permitted
Can I log into my Vevo channel?
No. A standalone Vevo channel is not managed like a personal YouTube account. Artists do not receive a direct Vevo login or password.
All video uploads, thumbnail changes, and supported channel edits must be submitted through EngineEars as your authorized distribution partner. Changes typically take 24–72 hours to process.
Vevo channel limitations
- You cannot independently upload content directly to your Vevo channel
- YouTube Shorts are not supported on a standalone Vevo channel
- Livestreams are not supported on a standalone Vevo channel
- You cannot post to the Community Tab under the Vevo channel name
- Strict quality control applies — files that don't meet broadcast standards will be rejected
Note: Once a Vevo channel is merged into an Official Artist Channel (OAC), artists can use their personal channel identity to reply to comments on Vevo videos.
Contributor credits
Contributor credits added during your submission are stored on the backend only and are not publicly visible on Vevo. If you want credits to appear publicly, include them in the Video Description field on the intake form.
Can I replace a Vevo video after it's live?
Vevo supports metadata updates and takedowns, but does not support overwriting an existing video file. If the video file needs to be replaced:
- The existing video must be taken down first
- The corrected video must be delivered as a new insert
A new UPC or ISRC is not required solely because the video file is being replaced.
We strongly recommend submitting only your final approved video file. Replacing a Vevo video requires a full takedown and re-delivery, which adds processing time.
