How to Change Your Artist Name Across Streaming Platforms
If you want to change your artist name across the streaming platforms where your music has been distributed through EngineEars, our Support Team can submit the update on your behalf.
To make sure your releases are updated correctly and your existing release data is preserved, follow the steps below.
Before You Submit Your Request1. Gather the UPCs for All of Your Releases
Your name change request must include the UPC for every release distributed through EngineEars that needs to be updated.
This allows our team to submit the artist name change across your entire catalog.
2. Update Your Cover Art, If Needed
Review the cover artwork for each release you are updating.
If your old artist name appears anywhere on the artwork, you will need to provide updated cover art displaying your new artist name.
Please submit the replacement artwork files along with your artist name change request.
Cover Art Requirements
- File Format: JPEG (.jpeg) or PNG (.png)
- Dimensions: Minimum 1400 x 1400 pixels, maximum 3000 x 3000 pixels
- Maximum File Size: 20 MB
If your old artist name does not appear on the artwork, you do not need to submit new cover art.
Submit Your Artist Name ChangeContact EngineEars Support and provide:
- Your current artist name
- Your new artist name
- The UPC for every EngineEars release that needs to be updated
- Updated cover artwork for any releases displaying your old artist name
Once we have everything needed, our team will submit the artist name and applicable artwork changes across your releases.
What Happens After Submitting? The way your artist profile is updated can vary depending on the streaming platform.
Most platforms may create a new artist profile under your new name and migrate your releases to that profile. Other platforms, such as Spotify, may simply update the artist name associated with your existing profile.
When the name change is processed properly, your existing release data is preserved. Your releases are being updated rather than re-released with new UPCs or ISRCs.
ImportantArtist name changes can take time to appear across every streaming platform, and each DSP processes metadata updates differently.
To avoid delays, make sure you submit all affected UPCs and any required replacement artwork at the same time.
