How to add a Custom Line Item to a Generated Booking

Add a custom line item to a generated booking to invoice a client for non-standard services or bundled packages that you offer.

Note: This feature is only available to Platinum Members. To add custom line item(s) to your generated project/session bookings, signup for the Platinum Membership Plan.

Service Providers can bill clients for additional non-standard services being offered when generating a booking link for a standard service (mixing, mastering, dolby atmos, recording session). This enables greater flexibility in the services offered on the EngineEars platform, consolidated payment collection and payouts for services rendered, and the ability to bundle multiple services or customize differentiated offerings as an add-on.

Add a Custom Line Item to a Generated Project Booking

When you generate a project booking link for a client for mixing/mastering/atmos services, you have the option to add a custom line item to invoice the client for non-standard services you are providing in addition to the service booked for the project.

1. From your Engineer Profile page, click the Generate Booking button. Then select the Project Booking option

 

2. Choose the paywall option and type of Project Booking Link you want to generate for your client, then click the Next button

 

3. In the Booking Details section, specify the Artist Name, Project Name, and the details of the selected Service for the project booking (full stems mix, two-track mix, dolby atmos mix, master).

4. In the Order Summary section, click the Add Custom Line Item(s) button

5. This will open the Custom Line Item modal where you can specify the details for your custom line item to be added.

  • Service Name: Enter a name for the added line item you are billing for 
  • Customer Description: Enter a description of the added line item you are billing for 
  • Service Rate: Enter the amount that you are billing for this added line item

Once you're done entering the custom line item details, click the Submit button

 

6. The Order Summary section is updated to reflect the details of the custom line item you added. The calculation for the Order Total is automatically updated to include the new subtotal  with the added line item charges for the booking (adjusted for service fees where applicable).

7. When you are finished you can click the Share this Booking button to copy a link to send to your client, or email the link to your client's email to view/pay for the project booking.

 

8. To edit the custom line item, click the pencil icon. This will open the Custom Line Item modal where you can make modifications. Once changes are made, click the Submit button to apply the changes. Then the Order Summary will be updated to reflect the details of the new changes.

Notes:

  • You cannot edit or delete a custom line item for a generated project booking link once the client has submitted payment for the project booking. If new charges arise, you should create a new generated project booking link. 
  • To itemize separate charges, you can add each individual custom line item one at a time to your generated project booking to display the items and their prices separately in the order summary. Alternatively, you can bill all the added charges as a lump sum under a single custom line item by entering the total service rate for the sum of all added charges in the service rate field. In the customer description field, specify the individual items and their individual prices to reflect the itemized details being charged in total.
  • Payouts occur when the service on the project booking link has been completed in full, custom line items are also paid out at the same time. If the booking link is for full-stems mixing, once the mixing project has been approved and completed by the client, then the payouts for the mix plus any custom line items billed on the booking will be paid out together (regardless of timing of deliverables specified for the custom line item). 

 

Add a Custom Line Item to a Generated Session Booking

When you generate a recording session booking link for a client at a recording studio or a custom location (travel recording), you have the option to add a custom line item to invoice the client for non-standard services you are providing in addition to the session booked.

1. From your Engineer Profile page, click the Generate Booking button. Then select the Session Booking option

Or from the Studio Room page, click the Generate Booking button. 

 

2. In the Booking Details section, specify the date, duration, time slot, location, and/or recording engineer for the session booking.

3. In the Order Summary section, click the Add Custom Line Item(s) button

4. This will open the Custom Line Item modal where you can specify the details for your custom line item to be added.

  • Service Name: Enter a name for the added line item you are billing for 
  • Customer Description: Enter a description of the added line item you are billing for 
  • Service Rate: Enter the amount that you are billing for this added line item

Notes:
