How Should I Name My Song?

Your song title should be typed exactly how you want it to appear on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms.


  • Spelling and capitalization: Double check both before submitting. DSPs publish titles exactly as written, so "song name" and "Song Name" are treated as different text.
  • Don't include "feat." or "featuring": Featured artists are added separately in the Artists tab. Once added there, the credit automatically attaches to the title on DSPs, so including it manually in the title field will create a duplicate.
  • Avoid extra tags in the title: Descriptors like "(Official Audio)," "(Prod. by...)," or promotional text don't belong in the song title field. Version information (Radio Edit, Remix, Acoustic, etc.) has its own dedicated Version field instead.

Tip: If your release is a Single, the Release Title you enter in the 1st step and the Song Title you enter in the Manage Tracks step must match exactly.

A mismatch between the two will block you from continuing.
