How Do I Upload Lyrics?

How to add lyrics to a track and format them correctly. Lyrics submitted here are distributed to Apple Music only; other DSPs require Musixmatch.

Lyrics are added from the Song Details panel, under the Details tab.

  • Click Add optional details to expand the additional fields for the track.
  • Enter your lyrics under the Lyrics (Optional) field. Add the complete lyrics for the track.

How lyrics should be written out

  1. Lyrics are sent to Apple Music directly through EngineEars. All lyric lines must be single-spaced, with a double space separating each stanza. Any background vocals should be on a separate line following the main vocal line.
  2. The lyrics should match the audio exactly. If a line is repeated, it must be written out in full each time, rather than noted as a repeat.

Correct:

Until you respect me and my dogs
I'll keep barking up the wrong tree
I'll keep barking up the wrong tree
I'll keep barking up the wrong tree
I'll keep barking up the wrong tree

Incorrect:

Until you respect me and my dogs
I'll keep barking up the wrong tree
(Repeat x3)

Musixmatch
