Upload your release as a collaboration with multiple other artists
When you create a Streaming release for streaming platforms and digital stores, you can include multiple other collaborating artists to be named in your release. Here are the possible ways to include other artists in your release:
- Multiple Main Artists for the entire Release Collaboration
- Multiple Main Artists for a Song Collaboration
- Featured Artist(s) for a Song Feature
Multiple Main Artists for the entire Release Collaboration
You can specify yourself as the Main Artist and up to 4 additional Main Artists to be associated with the entire release (album or single release) as a collaboration album/single. This means that every Main Artist specified will be the same group of Main Artist(s) appearing on all the songs within the collab release, and credited as primary artists performing the release.
When entering the details of your release in the Release Details (step 1), you can add one artist (yourself) or more (additional) main artists for your release collaboration.
Click the edit icon (pencil) to edit the primary main artist for the release.
Click the "Add an Additional Main Artist" button to add another main artist for the release.
- Main Artist (primary): enter the stage name of the artist or band associated with this release. Optionally enter the artist's profile URLs (from Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud) to link the main artist profile to these streaming platforms to ensure this release is grouped with their past releases. If the artist doesn't have a profile yet on these streaming platforms, leave blank and new artist profiles will be auto-created upon release.
- Additional Main Artist (optional): If there is more than one main artist associated with this release, you can include additional main artists, up to 4. You can optionally enter their artist profile URLs (from Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud) to link their artist profile to these streaming platforms to ensure this release is grouped with their past releases. If the additional main artist doesn't have a profile yet on these streaming platforms, leave blank and new artist profiles will be auto-created upon release.
Note:
If you are creating a Single for this release, make sure you add your multiple main artists at the album-level (Release Details step 1.), and not at the track-level (Track Details step 3.).
Multiple Main Artists for a Song Collaboration
You can specify yourself as the Main Artist and up to 4 additional Main Artists to be associated with an individual track in your release as a song collaboration. This means that the group of Main Artist(s) specified will be named together on only this song collab within the release, and credited as primary artists performing this song.
When entering the details of your song in the Track Details (step 3), you can add additional main artists for your song collaboration.
Click the edit icon (pencil) to edit the primary main artist for the song.
Click the "Add Additional Artist" button" to add another main artist for the song.
- Main Artist (primary): The stage name of the artist or band performing this song.
- Additional Main Artist (optional): If there is more than one main artist associated with this song, you can include additional main artists, up to 4.
Featured Artist(s) for a Song Feature
You can specify additional Featured Artist(s) to be associated with an individual track in your release as a song feature. This means that the Featured Artist(s) specified will be named as a Featured Artist on only this song title as a featured collab, and credited as assisting in the performance of this song (e.g. perform a verse or background vocals on the song) but not contributing to the majority of the song like the main artist(s) does.
When entering the details of your song in the Track Details (step 3), you can add featured artist(s) for your song feature so that their names are shown in the song's title.
Click the "Add Additional Artist" button, and then make sure to toggle "Featured Artist" to ON to add a featured artist for the song.
- Featured Artists (optional): The name of the featured artist or band to be added to the song title. If there is more than one featured artist, you can include additional featured artists. You can optionally enter their artist profile URLs (from Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud) to link their artist profile to these streaming platforms to ensure this release is grouped with their past releases. If the featured artist doesn't have a profile yet on these streaming platforms, leave blank and new artist profiles will be auto-created upon release.
Note:
If you do not link existing Artist Profiles, then new artist profile pages will be automatically created on these streaming platforms and/or digital stores for your release upon its distribution. This could create duplicated profiles for each of your Artist Names on these services and result in confusion for listeners. This may also result in your release being grouped together with other artists who have the same artist name. You can prevent this by linking your artist profiles.
