How do I delete a release?

Steps to delete a release

This article covers the steps on how to delete a release, and how to submit a takedown request.

Note: After deleting or taking down a release, you will still receive earnings due to you (and/or your song splits collaborators) for the deleted release during the timeframe in which the release was published live on streaming services and digital stores. If there are any available earnings due to you after the deletion or takedown of your previously published release, it will paid out to your account (and/or the accounts of your song splits collaborators).

Delete a Release

1. Login to your existing Artist account on EngineEars.com

2. In the navigation menu or the profile dropdown menu, click to go to the My Music page.

3. Once on the My Music page, make sure you're in the Releases tab. Then locate the specific release you want to delete.

To delete a release, click the 3-dot menu, then select the "Delete Release" option.

You will be asked to confirm your intent to delete the release. Once you confirm by clicking the "Yes" button, your release will be deleted.

Notes:

  • You can only delete a release that has a "Draft" status. Once a release has been submitted, it cannot be deleted with the above steps. Instead you will need to submit a Takedown request.

Submit a Takedown Request

Once a Streaming release has been sent to streaming platforms and digital stores (applicable statuses: "Approved" or "Delivered"), you cannot delete your release on your own.

Instead you will need to submit a Takedown Request by contacting Support for assistance.

Notes:

  • If your release was distributed to streaming platforms and/or digital stores via EngineEars, you can submit a Takedown Request by contacting Support to have it removed.
  • If your release was distributed to streaming platforms and/or digital stores via another distribution service (not via EngineEars), you will need to contact the original distribution service you used for your takedown request to have it removed.
